Each and every time i watch a video of Chris Irwin I am overwhelmingly impressed...

Excellent video. I've read Linda T-J's book on Swirls and to see them in a video adds depth and breath to what I know and learned. Always carry a whip for safety. It's what helps keep you the Alpha Horse

I have always like swirls and I have a 2yr old TB that its all starting to make scene now. He has two swirts a bit above his eyes that are right next to each other almost on top of each other and he is smart as can be he undoes gates, ties, halters, flymasks. and one day he is a sweet calm boy the next he is testing you every step

Joe & Ann, so condescending, wow. This is an open forum and viewers are entitled to their opinions. Based on what I saw, this person's training methods don't work that well. And I have watched other videos, with the same opinion. I'm not impressed. I'm sure this trainer does not care. Neither should you. Get over it.

I like the videos but they don't come in to where I can understand them. They will play and then start skipping. I don't know if its my computer or the web site.

...Hi Maria...and Chris made that very point...there is a degree of "nature versus nurture"....we are products of our life experience...and as such it has an influence..... Cheers...

i watched the whole swirl theory and ran right outside to check my horse's swirl. i was expecting it to be high and tight because my horse does alot of what i call tom foolery. he can open gates, takes lids off trash cans, pulls the rope to loose his quick release knots when i tie to a post. but it was right in the middle and tight. so the what i have come to settle on is that this swirl reading is like saying all red heads are firey and all blondes are airheads which we all know is not true

Hi Joe...I agree..it's unfair to walk into something and pass judgement without more info into what exactly is going on...Cheers....

Hi CeeCee. You need to watch Chris's other videos to understand his training methods. By watching only this one, you've sort of come into the middle of things. His purpose in this video is to speak to us, not to train this horse. His does offer corrections to the horse in the form of light taps and pokes in the chest to tell the horse to back up and mind its manners. Those are not "hitting" the horse. Look for those other videos and you'll see.

Hi CeeCee....sorry to hear you are so closed minded about Chris. If possible you owe it to yourself and your horses to attend a clinic of his...he knows what he is talking about and has been studying and working with horses for 25+ years...ya can't "fake"it and stay in the industry that long, but to each his own...I can't help feeling you are missing out on some very valid wisedom....Best Wishes....

Is it just me, but shouldn't someone who studies equine behavior be able to get a horse to stand still? Why isn't he using a lead rope? No horse likes being grabbed by the halter and whacked on the chest with a stick. My opinion of this person's knowledge of horses is very low, therefore the "swirl theory" is nothing more than going to a palm reader and getting your stars read.

Great info! Have been hearing about this and Chris was very thorough in his explanation! I liked the close ups so I could see what he means about splayed. This is a very old concept and is very interesting. I have heard about the study in cattle and horses.

Sorry. It sounds like horse vodoo to me. Now horses are ADHD. How pop phychology can you get. I'll stick to Zenophon.

I enjoy veiwing your videos and like to say that it makes sense on the swirls, I have a horse that has two swirls on top of each other above the eyes and he is the sweetiest horse I have owned. Thanks for all your free tips your the best. Sincerely, Noemi Trevino

Howdy, After you talking about looking at the different 'paint' marks on your horses, i thought you might enjoy seeing if their Swirl matches their personality. Ed
